Children’s Ministry

Featured-ChildrensMinistry

Antioch Children’s Ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade. The task of our ministry is to have our children grow in God’s love through a variety of activities in a safe, Christ-centered environment. There are multiple opportunities during the week for parents to bring their children to hear about the love of a great-big God. We have programming on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and other events strategically scheduled throughout the year that are focused and catered to children from birth to fifth grade.

On Sundays we offer a nursery from children birth through age three. We also provide Sunday School for ages four through fifth grade. We are currently using the Think Orange Curriculum as we have found it to be very biblically sound and Christ-focused. On Sunday mornings we also offer a Wee Worship time, which is a children’s church setting where ages four through fifth-grade have age appropriate music, games and lessons with application that coincide with the lessons they got from their Sunday School classes.

Our Wednesday night program offers a great deal for children pre-K through fifth grade. The big event that occurs on the first Wednesday of every month is Family Experience. It is designed to create an environment where the whole family can learn and laugh with each other, while drawing closer to God. The remaining Wednesday evenings in the month are reserved for Kid’s Connect. These events all commence with dinner at 5:15 followed by a small group time. Group leaders teach our children using the Think Orange 252 basics. Children Pre-k through 5th grade get to explore powerful truths modeled by Jesus. Praise Kids is a musical component to our Kid’s Connect, where children get to express themselves through worship.

At Antioch we also have multiple opportunities throughout the year for families to get involved and for children to be served. We kick off summer by taking our children to Camp Orange, followed by Vacation Bible School and then Day Camp throughout the remainder of the summer. Day Camp is a weekly camp that meets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Children can come and be involved in local field trips, swimming and getting to have fun with other children all while learning about God’s Love. Our Mud Bowl, which happens around the time of school starting, is an opportunity to get muddy and dirty and then get hosed down by the local fire department showing up and hosing us down. There are many other events for kids that happen throughout the year. We would like to invite you to come and find out what we are really all about.
